We are committed to promoting safety in the workplace through development and promotion of comprehensive classes, seminars, and workshops designed to increase awareness of current and continuous safety issues.

Our Chapter currently offers the following safety course:

Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST)

The Construction Site Safety Technician program is a 100-hour comprehensive, modularized safety program designed to train an individual to effectively manage a project-wide safety program. It provides a journey-level craftsperson or job site foreman the instruction needed to coordinate a construction site project safety program.

The course consists of the combined Field Safety and Safety Technology curriculum, and is a necessary addition to any company’s new employee orientation program. 

Field Safety will provide you with the rules and safeguards you need to work safely on any job site. Safety must be incorporated into all phases of the job and involve all employees at every level, including management.

Field Safety covers topics such as Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, and Forklift Safety.

Safety Technology provides instruction on how to implement and administer a company’s safety program.  This manual is designed for field managers, safety directors, safety committees, owner safety representatives, and insurance/loss control representatives.

Registration for Safety Tech will take place during the last week of your Field Safety Course.

In addition to the CSST Certification, participants will also receive their OSHA 30-Hour Construction Card. 


Member Fee = $600 per Course (requires proof of current employment)
Non-Member Fee = $1000 per Course
* Students will also need to bring $60 cash the first day of class to purchase the OSHA Standards book from the instructor.
 
2017 CSST class dates are as follows...
         * Fall Dates:
            Field Safety = October 7, 14, 21 & 28
            Safety Tech = November 11, 18, December 2 & 9


Please note: This program consists of two courses, Safety Technician and Field Safety. Both of these courses must be completed in order to receive the CSST certification.
